  • best offensive seasons by a catcher

I'm not going to make a poll beacuse there are so many options

    my top options are:

    Bill Dickey 1936 &37
Yogi Berra: all 3 MVP years and '56
    Roy Campanella 1953
    Johnny BEnch 1970
    Mike Piazza 1997 (.362 in 152 games!)
    Javy Lopez 2003
    Joe Mauer 2006
    Jorge Posada 2007

I'd go with Piazza. His OPS+ andEqA are well above the others. Add in the durability to amass 633 plate appearances and I am comfortable taking Piazza.

        Mike Piazza-1997

A couple of other catchers you could also add to your list -that had good seasons...
        Darrell Porter-1979
        Walker Cooper-1947
        Dick Dietz-1970
        Ivan Rodriguez-1999
        Gabby Harnett-1930
        Ted Simmons-1975
        Todd Hundley-1996

          Piazza's '97, but Deacon White's '75 is a close 2nd.
