  • What If There Was An LCS/Wild Card in The Past?

I sometimes wonder about what might have been had there been an LCS or Wild Card in the old days.

For example, would the 1978 Red Sox would have benefitted had there been a Wild Card back in the day?

Also, would the Yankees have won 20 championships in the 40-year stretch from 1923-1962. Had there been a LCS, maybe the Indians/Red Sox/White Sox would have gotten a crack at them?
