  • 3 players to home runs in same game.

This might have been discussed before, to be honest I did not do much research for the answer.

After hearing Ernie Banks, Billy Williams and Ron Santo homered in the same game 8 times in their career, I got curious to know what trio has the most "homered in the same game" games.

    Does anyone know?

I would like to see a top 5 to see where the Cubs trio would rank against some of the greats.

    This will take some time.
Some of the trios I am thinking about include:
    Mays McCovey Cepeda Bonds
    ARod Griffey Martinez
    Mantle Maris and ?
    Ruth Gehrig and ?
    Aaron Matthews Torre
    Aaron Evans and Johnson
    Armas Evans Rice
    Fisk, Rice, Lynn, Yaz
    Robinson Powell and ?
    Bench Perez Foster
    Canseco McGuirre ?
    Snider Campanella Hodges

It won't be many if any at all, but it would have to be Lazzeri, since he spent 9 seasons with Babe and Lou. My first thought was Meusel but he started in '20 so he only had 4 seasons to be with the pair.

Sweeping the Series against St. Louis in Game 4 of the '28 Series, Ruth hit three homes, with Gehrig and Cedric Durst joining. I'm sure Durst doesn't factor in too much on the mightiest trio, but how about Ruth, Ruth & Ruth - Gehrig, Gehrig & Gehrig?
