Best outfield of all time?

Defensively, Cain, Gordon, & Dyson of the 2014 Royals were a force. Nori Aoki not so much, but having those other 3 in the OF was about as good and as complete of an OF you were going to get in the field.

In 1943 Casey Stengel rated the 27 Yankees as the best outfield he had seen.

Bobby Bonds (age 27) .283/.370/.530 3rd in MVP, GG, 131 runs led league
it was a shame to see that great young outfield go

The best outfield of all time? Ruth's and Mays' teams lead the list
His top 8 are:
8. 1968 Red Sox. Have to downgrade them a bit because of Harrelson's fluke season.
7. 1917 Tigers. Great outfield, but the team went 78-75.
6. 1941 Yankees. Williams still should have won the MVP Award.
5. 1953 Dodgers. Only because Robinson spent just half his time in left.
4. 1990 Athletics. Was there a more fun outfield than this group?
3. 1980 Athletics. They were pretty good the next year too.
2. 1963 Giants. How did they not win the pennant?
1. 1927 Yankees. Yep, still the best.

Shout out to the 2012 Atlanta Braves, who would otherwise never be mentioned.
Michael Bourn, Martin Prado and Jason Heyward
All three players had at least 5.5 WAR.
All three players probably deserved the Gold Glove (only Heyward won).
The top 5 NL outfielders in WAR Runs Fielding in 2012:
Rk Player Rfield ▾
1 Michael Bourn 24.0
2 Jason Heyward 20.0
3 Martin Prado 19.0
4 Bryce Harper 14.0
5 Giancarlo Stanton 10.0

Jim Edmonds

5.8 WAR
J.D. Drew
.323/.414/.613, 27 HR (in 109 G)

I remember hearing about the Boston Red Sox in the mid-1980s having a "great" outfield with 3 former AL home run champs out there: Jim Rice, Tony Armas and Dwight Evans.
I also really like the 1986 Yankees (90-72, second place AL East) outfield: Dan Pasqua, Rickey Henderson and Dave Winfield. Ken Griffey also spent time in left with big Dan Pasqua, who had a nice year at the plate. They also had Aches' favorite guy, Claudell Washington, sleeping around somewhere.
