    Pro Baseball Archive

    Is the free Pro Baseball Archive service no longer available? I notice that when I enter my bookmarked URL (www.probaseballarchive.com), it changes to the pay service (www.newspaperarchive.com).

    I would miss this service greatly if it is gone. It's helped me greatly in biographical research.

    False alarm -- the company tells me "Our free archives are currently down indefinitely while we are doing extensive maintainence on our servers."

    A good thing for us researchers that they'll be coming back.

      Far and away, the best part of being a student, is the free newspaper and magazine archives I have access to.
