I'm leaning towards team B, but team B is hideously bad defensively.

Team B has a little better hitting, and better 1-3 starters.

Are we basing this on 1 year peaks, short peaks, long peaks etc.

One thing that makes team A look good is that many of the players, I counted at least 8, have thrived in the Postseason. The question asks about the World Series between the two. What can you say about how these guys did in the postseason?
          Robinson
          Snider
          Ott
          Ramirez
          Schilling
          Gomez
          Murphy
          Rivera

Agreed Team B has Gehrig and Matthewson, to name a couple. I think it would be close. But I'll take Team A

Welcome back ARod. Hope you are a Yankee forever.

I'd go with team B. But I want to pick against Farnsworth. Having a 19th century pitcher throws it off for me. These are very evenly matched teams. The top 3 starters on team B plus Williams and Gehrig I think would offset the bad defence. Grove, Randy, and Christy at their peaks would be pretty unstoppable. Hunter will help make up for the bad left and right fielders.

            Great post. Interesting.
