I'd hope Braves. He won about seventy more wins for them, pitched a couple more years and more full seasons at that. Had his best years there, won a World Series there, helped lead them to a win streak there. But is there a chance he goes in as a Cub? And would there be something wrong with that?

When Maddux Retires, is he a Cub or a Brave?

I'd say there's little to no chance of him going in as a Cub, and that is the way it should be. Maddux was only part of one division title winner in Chicago, won a Cy Young Award with them and won his 300th game in a Cubs uniform. As far as I can tell, that is about all he has with the Cubbies.46 wins to match last year's total

The only way Maddux will NOT go in as a Brave is if he hangs in long enough to get to 400 wins, in which case, he MIGHT be wearing the cap of the team he's pitching for when he won his 400th.
Nolan Ryan should have went in as an Angel, as that was the team with which he (A) established himself as a superstar, and (B) the team with whom he had his best years. He went in as a Ranger because (A) that is the team he racked up his final milestones with, and (B) he was, personally, identified with the state of Texas."I do not care if half the league strikes. Those who do it will encounter quick retribution. All will be suspended and I don't care if it wrecks the National League for five years. This is the United States of America and one citizen has as much right to play as another. The National League will go down the line with Robinson whatever the consequences. You will find if you go through with your intention that you have been guilty of complete madness."

A clear-cut case where the he played for the Braves both the most years and during his best years. No-brainer."It is a simple matter to erect a Hall of Fame, but difficult to select the tenants." -- Ken Smith
