currently, barry bonds leads the pack with 100% of the vote. i do expect that to change, though.

Here's how much you can expect it to change, Tony.

Some still argue that Ruth's 60 in 1927 remains the real homerun record because he did it in 154 game season and without the cloud of steroids. Me personally, I think Maris' 61 has regained its shimmer in the past year and is once again the gold standard in my mind.

ok, so a slight adjustment might take place. i can handle that.

I always felt that if they were going to add an asterisk, they should have put it next to Babe's record once Maris broke it, not next to Maris' record. 60 in 150 games is not too shabby.

Having said that, I vote for 29

Sosa is a little less suspicious than Bonds or McGwire. Is there anybody here who thinks Sosa's 66 is the genuine record, rather than Bonds' 73 or McGwire's 70? Just curious.
Red, it took me 16 years to get here. Play me, and you'll get the best I got.

Not only that, while I can understand the Bonds or Marris I am curious as to the reasoning behind McGwire's votes. Not attacking, just curious.

                            73 is a larger number than 70, 66, 65, 64, 61, and 60.

It may be but it probably wasnt earned out of pure talent. 61 I think is the all time leader because maris probably didnt take steroids but the most impressive is ruths 60 in 151 games compared to 161 games that maris played.
                              go sox.
