Bobby Chouinard would have to be the greatest MLB player born in The Philippines because he was the only MLB player born in The Philippines.

Can't say for sure, but maybe was an army brat.

Bobby Chouinard baseball stats, biographical data, history, trivia, and research by Baseball Almanac.

It's not on your list, but the best player from Vietnam would most likely be Danny Graves. Another army brat I would imagine.

Ed Porray probably wins miscellaneous category despite only appearing in 3 games. He was born out over the Atlantic Ocean.

From Mexico it's either Bobby Avila or Vinny Castilla (though Jose Cantu may one day surplant them one day) and between Fernando Valenzuela or Teddy Higuera for pitchers.

Mythical SF Chronicle scouting report: "That Jeff runs like a deer. Unfortunately, he also hits AND throws like one." I am Venus DeMilo - NO ARM! I can play like a big leaguer, I can field like Luzinski, run like Lombardi. The secret to managing is keeping the ones who hate you away from the undecided ones. I am a triumph of quantity over quality. I'm almost useful, every village needs an idiot.

Off the cuff, US--Babe Ruth, Japan--Sadaharu Oh Cuba's tough because of the Castro era We can come up with real talents from Puerto Rico, the Dominican, Venezuela, Mexico, Panama (Rod Carew, IIRC), and Canada. It'll take a while to get them all though.

Don't be fooled by HR and RBIs. Armas was about as bad as you could possibly be and be a HR and RBI champ. He's not anywhere near the best Venezuelan player. That would be Galarraga, Santana, or Magglio Ordonez.

Wow you're right. A lifetime OPS+ of only 102! Can't get much more mediocre than that.
