I am looking for help getting authentic phrases terms and language that would've been used by barnstorming teams of Major Leaguers and Negro League players. I am especially interested in terms that have a pastoral feel to them like, Hayseed, Banjo Hitter, Can of Corn...etc,
Would also appreciate if any of you have any favorite Tall Tale type stories from that era.....like " Once josh gibson hit the ball so hard it burned up before it got to the left fielder, he caught the ashes so Josh was out, but Satchel Paige tagged up and scored the winning run because he couldn't throw them to the catcher..''
That kind of thing.
