    Greatest partial seasons 1961-1985

Name a player, a group of players (even multiple seasons by one player), or assemble a team with as many players as you want with the following criteria:

    1) Season(s) MUST BE between 1961 (expansion/integrated era) and 1985 ("pre-steroid era")
    2) Any partial season as defined by
    a) first half vs second half or vice versa as determined by the ASG
    b) home or away for one season although you can only use "away" stats, no use of home park only to avoid park illusions like Coors Field or old Dodger Stadium
    c) any traded player's stats for one team only as long as at least 33% of his PA/IP are included and no more than 67% of his PA/IP are included (I tweaked this to include 1964 Lou
    Brock)
    d) NO strike seasons included unless the strike was short enough that less than 16 games were missed
    e) no use of WAR, OPS+, WIN SHARES or other "modern" formulas can be noted as reason to include, looking for basic stats BA, HR, RBI, OB%, SA etc for hitters, W-L. IP, K, ERA etc
    for Pitchers

I am interested to see perhaps who had the most HRs, wins, etc with this criteria

    here are a few examples

In 1984, Rick Sutcliffe was 4-5 with a 5.15 ERA at the June 15th trading deadline. He was then traded to the Cubs, and went 16-1 with a 2.69 ERA the rest of the season, leading the Cubs to their first post-season appearance in 40 years.

Here's one that Cubs fans won't forget...

        1984 Rick Sutcliffe 2nd H 12-0 2.93 ERA 119K and 27BB in 113.2IP

The ERA isn't great, but the guy did have Wrigley for a home park before lights were installed.
Rick also went 16-1 with a 2.69 ERA for the Cubs after posting a 4-5 record with a 5.15 ERA for the Tribe (150.1 innings in the NL, 94.1 in the AL, so roughly a 61-39% split).

I apologize for the misleading title but only players in seasons 1961 to 1985 are "eligible"

If I remember correctly, Rick won his first two games after the trade and we were all getting really excited about him...then he lost the third and I figured the hot streak was over and he was ready to be a Cub. Little did I know he wouldn't lose another game until the playoffs.

                            Willie McCovey 1969 1st half .325/.448/.710 30 hrs 79 RBI

                            Reggie Jackson 1969 1st half .287/.414/.716 37 hrs 79 RBI

                            Frank Howard 1969 1st half .313/.412/.628 34 hrs 62 RBI

                            Harmon Killebrew 1969 1st half .281/.416/.577 28 hrs 91 RBI

There was some timber going into that all-star game. And you can see, there were players on pace for the M&M boys. Here are Maris and Mantle’s first halves in 1961.

                            Roger Maris 1961 1st half .282/.388/.648 33 hrs

                            Mickey Mantle 1961 1st half .330/.471/.730 29 hrs 74 RBI
