  • Baseball Digest

I put this in the History section because because I use it so often looking back on the game. Great site, type in the subject and you loads of articles.

Now for the question, does anyone here use this site..............Baseball Digest Google Books.
Have it saved in Favorite Places but can't access it, for a few days now.
All I get is 404 error.

I didn't even know they had something like that. I hope they get it back up because I wanna see view it now.
"(Shoeless Joe Jackson's fall from grace is one of the real tragedies of baseball. I always thought he was more sinned against than sinning." -- Connie Mack

"I have the ultimate respect for Whitesox fans. They were as miserable as the Cubs and Redsox fans ever were but always had the good decency to keep it to themselves. And when they finally won the World Series, they celebrated without annoying every other fan in the country."--Jim Caple, ESPN (Jan. 12, 2011)

Looks like it may be under repair..............I'm hoping.
I should add it not only shows a page and at times many pages not only from Baseball Digest but other books.

I was trying to access this yesterday. I got an error. I hope it's just temporary. They had pretty muck all the issues online.

When it does get back up can you post it on here.

That error message has appeared for about a month now, just about to give up on it.
But another site.............Googlebooks.com has a good variety of books, many that list a good number of pages with articles on what ever subject you place in the search box. Some give no access to any pages but many do.
So far of all the books that appeared, I have not seen Baseball Digest appear but a good number of other books, with articles, some multiple pages do show. It's not Baseball Digest but I like it.

In that search box, enter what ever your looking for............inside the park home runs..........perfect games and you will get some books with related articles.

A couple of books gave me almost a hundred pages on some articles, more than I needed.

I've also used that site, and have had it bookmarked for some time. I get the same error.

Here is something to look for:

              Your Second Base Coach
Garvey, Lopes, Russell, and Cey started 833 times and the Dodgers went 498-335, for a .598 winning percentage. That’s equal to a team going 97-65 over a season. On those occasions when at least one of them missed his start, the Dodgers were 306-267-1, which is a .534 clip. That works out to a team going 87-75. So having all four of them added 10 wins to the Dodgers per year.

Thanks Coach, will check out that site when it opens up. Have no idea if it will be like the site we did have at one time.
In the mean time that.......Googlebooks.com is a great site, gives a number of book articles, many with multiple pages, just no Baseball Digest, I use it often.
Example, typed in "Walter Johnson one hitters" and it came up with a couple of dozen books containing articles about Johnson and other pitcher's one hitters.
