The Phillies just ended a home sellout streak of 257 games, that lasted just over three years, however, that streak can't rival the streak the Cleveland Indians started at a new Jacobs Field in the mid-1990s. Who has details of the starting and ending dates, number of games, and average attendance of the Cleveland Indians home sellout streak that lasted roughly from 1995 or 1996 to 2001 or 2002?

The Indians sellout streak was a joke. I was at the park for about 30% of it and there were many times (especially on weeknights) when it was obvious that thr park was only only half full. The streak started on June 12, 1995 and ended on April 4, 2001. It ran for 455 games. It wasn't much more than a marketing gimmick. -

I don't know if companies bought up seats to keep it alive, but it wouldn't surprise me if that happened. I think it was nothing but a marketing gimmick and that ultimatley it was bad for the team. I think the front office figured that tickets would be sold and they kind of sat on their hands rather than try to make some moves to improve the team.Originally posted by Captain Cold Nose View PostComment
