Ron LefLore has to be one of the most most naturally gifted ballplayers in baseball history. As far as I can tell LeFlore didn't play any organized baseball until he went to prison. He meets Billy Martin and signs with the Tigers in the summer of 1973. He debuts with the Tigers on August 1, 1974. I find that truly amazing.

What was Billy in for?

I agree 100%, so very unlikely that LeFlore should have been able to even have a ML career at all given his circumstances and actions, and he actually had a pretty good one.
