Japan careers included: ichiro vs. matsui

Who wins? just considering MLB of course ichiro wins but he also got to the majors earlier. in japan both were huge stars. ichiro was a hit machine and matsui was a HR machine. obviously ichiros skills translated better to the majors but who wins if we add their respective careers? I want you here to not weigh achievemnets according to the leagues quality (of course this is wrong as the MLB is stronger) but act like it was one career.

does have anyone the added stats (at least hits, HR, BA, OBP, SLG, OPS) for the two?

Combined Ichiro has 3,884 careers hits right now. I think it is quite possible that had Ichiro come to the majors at age 21 he would be chasing 4,000 hits, perhaps even Pete Rose, right now.

Ichiro was one of the finest outfielders in the world. Matsui ended up as a DH. I'll take Ichiro's defense and 4000 hits.

You'll have to add up the Japan years. Note that for Ichiro the Japan West league is a minor league.

I think Ichiro would have. Ichiro has lots of "shiny things" that HoF voters like: batting titles, oodles of 200-hit seasons, the all-time single season hit record, and a bunch of Gold Gloves.
