34 men (only before the first match will be decided the 30 men roster).
The team is working well in Lakeland,and in these days should arrive MLB players.
In the 2 friendly games played good games from players coming from the italian league,in the last friendly game th e pitchers struggled vs batters.
There are 4 players from Fortitudo Bologna : Claudio Liverziani,Davide Dallospedale,Fabio Milano and Todd Incantalupo,i hope they play well and return in Italy with a great experience.

Well, maybe they'll return with something better: a contract, hehehe!
After the game yesterday, Italy should not be looked behind the shoulder anymore. The country might not be famous for baseball players, but they surely are great athletes, so I think a handful of players, not only from Italy, but from other countries, will be held in the USA in order to be invited to spring trainings with MLB teams.

I must say, they played really well against the Aussies (not saying much I know) but they are definately a team to keep your eye on (helps that I am of Italian descent- father was born there).

Their jerseys should say "Italian-American" and not "Italia" though...

You are right,but the italian-american are playing with great passion for the team of their roots and i think they are proud to play for Italy,Piazza is a fantastic captain.
The problem of the italian baseball are numbers,there are few players born and raised in Italy that could compete at this level but i hope to see more italians raised in Italy in the domestic league in the next WBC.
Of course this italian national team is the best ever.

Without a doubt, they have already done themselves and their heritage proud. Considering they were touted s the groups whipping boys, its good to see them dominate Australia and would be nice to see them remain competitive in the remaining two group games.

Now lets hope the Azzuri can do more in Germany this year. :gt
