It certainly is a classic . The last two years AL Cy Young winnners one against the other . Bartolo vs Johan , wow . So pitching will be a factor for Dominicana , too . And lets not forget that the venezuelans can hit , too . A real classic to start the Classic . Either wins Dominicana or Venezuela , we the fans ( specially caribbean people ) are the big winners .

"After my fourth season I asked for $43,000 and General Manager Ed Barrow told me, 'Young man, do you realize Lou Gehrig, a 16-year-man, is playing for only $44,000?' I said, Mr. Barrow, there is only one answer to that - Mr. Gehrig is terribly underpaid."- Yankees outfielder Joe DiMaggio

Oops, maybe I was wrong. Maybe good hitting does beat good pitching.

Italy scores seventh-round knockout over Australia

Team Italy's matchup with Australia on Tuesday was no contest, as manager Matt Galante's club got off to a fast start in a game that was eventually called via the mercy rule in the seventh, giving Italy a 10-0 win.
