Cuba vs Domincan rivalry?

Correct me if I'm wrong here but do the Dominican's even have an organized amatuer baseball or international baseball team or system?


Have Cuba and Dominican met in any other championships?

It is unfair to judge the rivalry now because in International tournament the Dominicans take low talented players. On the other hand, Cubans do not play the best of the world often. We can not send our best players to the ML. That is why the Cuban team is still playing scared. During the next Classic if there is another one, you will see Cuba more relaxed. But hopefully, Cubans will be able to come to the ML by then.

Such a rivarly doesnt exist since DR sucks in amateur competition, while cuba is king in that type of competition... In the other hand, cuba doesn't participate in pro tournaments (caribbean series i.e.), even though it's now said that since fidel accepted to play in wbc, maybe he'll rejoin the caribbean confederation...

Right now, our main rivalry is Puerto Rico, but since baseball has been in a low there, there's some rivalry building up between DR and Venezuela
