    Doosan Bears v. Lotte Giants

10/8: The visiting Lotte Giants won game one of their playoff series against the Doosan Bears 8-5 in extra innings. Park Joon-seo tied the game with a pinch-hit two run homer in the 8th and the Giants went on to win the game in the 10th, holding off the Bears.

The Lotte Giants drew first blood in the first round of the KBO playoffs, defeating the Doosan Bears 8-5 in extra innings on Monday.

10/9: Lotte now has a 2-0 lead over the Bears as the Giants defeated Doosan in a tight contest, 2-1. A go-ahead solo home run in the top of the 9th gave the Giants the win. After an off-day, the series will resume on the 11th.

10/11 - Needing a win to stay alive, the Doosan Bears got a 1st inning two run homer from Choi Joon-suk and would go on to a 7-2 victory over the Lotte Giants to force game four.

10/12 - With a 3-1 lead going into the 9th, it looked like Doosan would force game five in their series with the Lotte Giants. The Bears' pitching would crack under the pressure, walking the bases loaded and then walking in the 2nd run before giving up a sac fly to tie the game and send it into extras. With a runner on second, the Bears' pitcher threw a wild pitch and then there was throwing error that would allow the Giants' runner to score the game (and series) winning run. The Giants now move on to face the SK Wyverns for the right to play the Samsun Lions for the KBO championship.

          Lotte Giants vs SK Wyverns

          Game 1:
With their starter Kim Kwang-hyun going six innings and striking out 10, the SK Wyverns managed just enough offense to defeat the Lotte Giants 2-1 and take game one of their series. Down 1-0, the Giants would tie the game up in the 6th only to see the Wyverns plate another run of their own in the bottom of the inning and hold on for the win.

            Game 2:
Erasing a 3 run deficit, the Lotte Giants won the 2nd game in 10 innings by a final score of 5-4. Given a lead of 4-1 starting the 7th, the Wyverns pen gave up three to send the game to extras and then would walk in the winning run in the top of the 10th after the bases were loaded. This evens the series 1-1.

                    Game 5:
Wyverns starting pitcher Kwang couldn't get past the 2nd inning, giving up 3 runs to the Giants. SK got right back into the game, though, scoring two runs in the bottom of the same inning. Wyverns reliever Chaebyongyong would pitch shut out baseball for the next four innings as SK tied the game in the bottom of the 4th and then took the lead in the bottom of the 5th with two runs and would add yet another run in the bottom of the 7th for what would prove the final score of 6-3 as the Wyverns eliminate the Giants from the playoffs. They now advance to face the Samsung Lions for the KBO championship in a rematch of the 2011 series that was won by the Lions. This will be the Wyverns sixth straight appearance in the KBO championship.

                      Korean Series

                      Game 1:
Lee Seung-Yeop hit a first inning 2 run home run for the Samsung Lions who held the SK Wyverns to a single run in the 4th and won the first game of the best of seven Korean Series 3-1. The Lions starter and pen held the Wyverns to five hits and the 1 run. SK's manager chose to leave his starter in the entire game, not going to his pen at all.

                            Game 3:
This game was a game of two big innings. After getting an early 1-0 lead, the Wyverns saw the Lions score six runs in the top of 3rd. SK did not get rattled and chipped away at the deficit, scoring two runs in the bottom of the 3rd and then two more in the bottom of the 4th. Down 7-5 after the fifth, the Wyverns got their big inning in the bottom of the 6th, scoring six runs (including a 3 run home run by Kim Kang-min). Both teams would score one more run each for the final score of 12-8 as the Wyverns get their first victory of the Korean Series and cut Samsungs' lead to one game. Both managers went to their pens often in this game as the Wyverns used six pitchers and the Lions used 7.

                              Game 4:
Behind solid pitching and two solo home runs from Park Jae-sang and Choi Jeong in the bottom of the 4th, the SK Wyverns evened the Korea Series at two games apiece, defeating the Samsung Lions 4-1. Lions starter Mitch Talbot retired the first 10 batters he faced before giving up 3 runs in the 4th and would take the loss after working through the 6th inning and striking out 10 Wyverns. SK's bullpen held Samsung to just two hits and a single run over the final four innings. Game 5 will be at the neutral site of Jamsil Stadium (The Lions will be the home team) on Wednsday.
