Are there ratings for how well managers performed in their careers?

I think any attempt at extracting a manager's contribution to his team from the players contributions is probably futile.

Thanks for the info. The author seems to rate how good a manager is in close games which is important but sometimes a team gets in close games against an opponent they should be beating by a large margin an manage to squeak one out. These teams play up or down to the competition and is not a sign of a good manager at all.
