JAWS as described by B-R:

JAWS (Jaffe WAR Score system) was developed by sabermetrician Jay Jaffe as a means to measure a player's Hall of Fame worthiness. A player's JAWS is their career WAR averaged with their 7-year peak WAR. Note that only batting or pitching WAR are used in detmining the averages at a given position. The current Hall of Famers are then grouped by position and a position average JAWS is computed.

Glad to see they have added the numbers, complete the with average score for each position.

I probably like this method a little more than Adam's HOF Score...well, maybe not. They both have their merits. Both are better than just using WAR by itself, of course.

Is it 7 consecutive years, or best 7?

I experimented with Johnny Bench's numbers and it is best 7.

If you go by his best 7 year run his total 58.1 but his best 7 would give you 59.1
