I have been saying for the past couple of years that I like the direction the Padres are going in, even though it doesn't yet show in wins and losses. This link shows me that I am not the only one who feels that way. If they hold on to their talent, watch out in a couple years.(Of course it is not a given that they will hold onto that talent. But it is not in the owners' blood to mortgage the future. There is O'Malley blood there after all.)

padres have done a good job with their farm, especially after this ill adviced attempt to compete a couple years ago. question is how much money there will be to retain talent and ideally add on to it.
