I've seen a lot that were great in different ways.

I saw a double-header in New Haven, CT, between the Ravens and the New Britain Rock Cats, who at the time were both in-state rivals and pretty much the class of the Eastern League between them. The second game went deep into extra innings and wasn't over until the wee hours. That was pretty great as a total experience.

July 18, 2007 It was Duke's Retro Night and the Isotopes were playing the Omaha Royals. Isotopes centerfielder Brett Carroll was warming up in the grass between left field and 3rd base with catcher Chris Ashby. I got his attention and he was kind enough to toss me a ball. I said, "Thanks Brett!" He nodded and then I said, "Be amazing." That night, he hit 3 consecutive homeruns that game. I was hoping he would hit a fourth homerun but instead he settled for a double. He grounded out to second during his fifth at bat. The Isotopes won the game, I got a souvenir from Brett, and the baseball Gods were happy.

In the deciding game of the 1997 California League season Championship Series, High Desert Mavericks RF Stanton Cameron hit a 3-run home run, all the runs the Mavs scored. In the top of the ninth, with runners on base, and two outs, Cameron made a diving catch for the third out to clinch the pennant for High Desert.

After the game, I told him that most fans will remember the home run, but I'd remember the catch.
