  • 99-year-old minor leaguer Pat Vescova passes away

    Just one day after his birthday, too.

    Patrick P. “Pat” Vescova, 99, beloved father, husband, and grandfather, passed away July 23, 2012, at Kirby Pines Manor....

    Pat was All-Memphis as quarterback at Catholic High, 1932-1933, where they were Memphis City Champions. He played Kitty League baseball for the Jackson Generals and Union City Greyhounds.

    I was pretty excited about this story until I realized that there should have been a "former" in the thread title.
    Still, RIP to a guy who enjoyed a long life and probably had a lot of good stories.
