The Round Rock Express is my favorite minor league team and then it will have to be the Corpus Christi Hooks.

I have to go with the High Desert Mavericks (Class A/Upper, California League, Kansas City Royals).
They are the local pro team, and have been in the area since 1991. I worked as an usher for three seasons, 1994-95-96 (met Bob Feller here in '94), and have been a volunteer keeping the batting stats for the message board operator since '97.
I'm also a member of the Booster Club, and chair the committee to choose the Player of the Month, and Pitcher of the Month. It's a great committee, not only of knowledgable fans, but three played Minor League ball at one time. One even pitched in the Cal League in the mid-60s.

Of course, when I was growing up it was the Denver Bears, as I lived about 30 miles from Denver. But, since Colorado has MLB, the Bears no longer exist (they changed their name from Bears to Zephyrs in the mid 80's anyway - dumb move - Bears was always a popular name and still is. Many Colorado Rockies fans would like to see the name Denver Bears for the team).
Anyway, I moved to Arizona in 1986 when I began a new career as a Border Patrol Agent. So I can't say the Colorado Springs Skysox are my favorite minor league team - I've never seen them play.
As a Cardinal and Oriole major league fan, I used to follow their minor league clubs in the Sporting News. Thus, the Tulsa Oilers, Louisville Redbirds and Rochester Red Wings were semi-favorites.
Today, it would be a Class A independent team - the Yuma Scorpions. They are playing their maiden season this year. Yuma has had minor league franchises before - the Yuma Bullfrogs collapsed financially a couple of years ago. The Scorpions are playing well, and have some local talent on the club. The only problem is, it just is not that comfortable to go to Desert Sun Stadium in the summer (Desert Sun was built for the Padres - they used to hold their spring training in Yuma). They have a method of cooling the stadium (it's even hot in the evenings here), but it's not quite enough. This league needs to play winter ball (especially because the population increases considerably in the winter when the Snowbirds - senior citizens - come down from the north).

Back in the 1960's, the Dodgers had Spokane as the AAA franchise. The Spokane Indians of the PCL - later called the Spokane Dodgers, although I'm not sure if Dodgers was their official name or just an affectionate name because of their parent franchise at the time.
