  • Who is the only player in MLB history...

Who is the only player in MLB history to hit 50 or more HR's in a season, but strike out fewer than 50 times? This is an amazing feat in my opinion and may never be duplicated.

Note that Gehrhig in 1934 and 1936 and Kluszewski in 1954 were all 1 HR short

I agree that it is unlikely to be repeated in the near future, but the game changes from era to era, so we may see it again. No one since 1965 has hit at least 50 HRs and struck out less than 80 times. Bonds did make a couple of runs at this, though. 46 HRs / 47 SOs in 2002, 45 HRs / 41 SOs in 2004, but it may be a while before we see it again.

        Well Done

Thanks, nice work. I agree with you. In his current state, Bonds may have a tough time approaching his great ration numbers again.
