  • Last pitcher with 25+ wins in a single season?

This is a really easy one if you look it up, so don't - or else

But in the recent past, 24 wins has been the ceiling, and has been accomplished a couple times, so tell me, who was the last player to have 25 or more wins in a single season?

Pretty sure it's Bob Welch, unless I'm forgetting someone really obvious.

      Yup, Welch it was.

Maybe a little harder, who was the last guy to do it before Welch?

It was Steve Stone on the 1980 Orioles.
        Is this heaven?
        No, it's Iowa.

Can anyone tell me how this happened?

This is a man who only one other time had 15+ wins, and his next season (which was his last), he went 4-7, and left at the age of 33. And his 1980 season wasn't even that great, he didn't lead in any category (other than wins and winining percentage).
