It's said that at times he hid a gun in his uniform. He last pitched in his fifties.
As for his time in the majors, he smashed a future Hall of Famer in the mouth during a game.
He attacked a player 9 inches taller than he was with a bat.
If he wasn't the shortest, then certainly one of the shortest major leaguers to win 20 in a season. The two seasons prior to his banner year, he lost a combined 42 games.

Dolf Luque, 27 wins with Cincinnati in 1923.

FYI, the shortest 20 game-winner ever was Lee Viau at 5'4". He won 27 in 1888 and 22 in 1889 with Cincinnati of the old American Association. In the MLB era, 5'6" Bobby Shantz did the trick with his 24 W for the Athletics in 1952.

Right on..Luque was said to pack a rod in Cuba and that's where he took the mound in his 50's. Thanks for the heads up on Shantz...He slipped my mind..
