Billy Maharg (Graham spelled backwards) played 3B for the Tigers on May 18, 1912 along with other amatuer players when the regular Tigers team refused to play in protest of Ty Cobb's suspension.
Maharg was the only player from that game who played in the majors again. In 1916 he played one game for the Phillies.
Don't know anything about his other connections but I believe he was somehow involved in the Black Sox scandal. -
