I expect ichrio will eventually be the top hitter for the mariners, and jeter should also take over gehrig in time.
Pujols is unlucky enough to have Stan Musial to aim for, otherwise i would say he'd have a reasomnable shot at the next highest (Brock 2713) if he stays healthy and hits well playing into his late 30's.

I noticed the Mets and the Blue Jays last night. Another one is Michael Young of the Rangers who is just over 400 behind Ivan Rodriguez.

Vernon Wells(1076) could get past Tony Fernandez(1583) in a few years. He's 507 away, so he's closer than Ichiro.

Give José Reyes about four more years. He's at 715 and Ed Kranepool is at 1,418. Then again, sooner or later it could be David Wright (630).

Do you see anyone else with a shot at becoming their team leader in hits?
    Garrett Anderson is the 3rd.

I can think of possibly two guys that have a shot of eventually taking over their franchise hit lead. Derek Jeter and Ichiro. Lou Gehrig is the current Yankee leader with 2721. Jeter currently has 2356 so he's 2 maybe 3 years away. Edgar Martinez leads the Mariners with 2247. Ichiro has 1592 which is 655 hits away.

Of course is Luis Castillo goes back to Florida he would be the 4th.

Crawford and Helton are correct. Gonzalez is not.
