Picture being the last guy on base after the pitcher picked off the other two. I would be standing on the base and not moving.

      Tippy's Pick-offs

I was keeping score and listening to the radio as a 14-year old when Tippy picked off three. I distinctly remember John Miller talking about how the third guy to reach first should basically stand on the bag. And I think he did for the first couple throws over. But Tippy kept on throwing to first and eventually caught him. Miller went nuts "He picked off THREEEEEE!"

Tippy never threw a pitch to home plate with a runner on base.

I was at Royals stadium on 04/04/88 when George Bell became the first player to hit three HR's on Opening Day. I was also out there for Nolan Ryan's first no-hitter and Bret Saberhagen's only no-hitter.

Jeff Nelson only threw one pitch in a game and got 3 outs. He entered the game in the 9th inning and his team turned a 1-6-4 triple play on his first pitch.
