  • Three (and Four) Pete

On average, Pete Rose struck out about once every 3 games in his career or about once every 14 plate appearances.

Name the 2 pitchers who sent him packing 4 times in a single game?

Bonus: Name the five pitchers who set him down 3 times in a single game?

4 Times = Ray Culp and Don Wilson
3 Times = Bob Veale, Don Wilson, Steve Blass, Phil Niekro, Gaylord Perry, and Nolan Ryan

I didnt have Veale, so there must be 8 then.

Still one more out there.......a former teammate.

Seaver was the the one I was looking for. I dont think Sutton got him but twice in that game...

That's correct. Sutton got him twice and Jim Brewer got him the other time.
