  • BA - Below .270 Team Leader

Who is the last player to lead his team in BA for a season with a BA below
.270? This includes all players, regardless of minimum at bat requirements.

Roy White? He switch hit triples Sept. 8th, 1970...but I don't think he ever lead his team in BA...not thos yankee's teams anyways.

Toby Harrah lead the '72 Rangers in BA, hitting .259, but he wasn't a swith-hitter, nor did he ever even hit 2 triples in the same game regardless.

I guess that means more searching

The answer I have is Roy White - '68 Yankees.

I think there were a few other players with a higher BA than Harrah (one of two baseball pallidromes I know -- can you name the other?) that season. Remember, no AB mins.

Roy White in 1968 works for me.

            I guess I concur

I must have just passed over '68 when looking at White's career.

And as far as Harrah goes, he should be the answer, if it were not for Rich Hinton who went 1-2 that year (.500 BA).

As long as we are on the subject, that was actually Hinton's only hit in his career (he was a pitcher for a short period of time - 5 teams in 6 years).

I'd be surprised if there aren't more than Nen (Bob doesn't count?

I am not surprised it was 1968. .270 my have finished in the top10 in the AL that year. I haven't looked it up, so I don't know for certain. But it wouldn't surprise me.

Welcome back ARod. Hope you are a Yankee forever.

Is Roy White the only player ever to hit triples from both sides of the plate in the same game?
