Good thing I checked onthis one. I was ready to say Bill Nicholson, but It's Phil Cavaretta in Game 1 of the 1945 Series.

Who was the first player to hit a walkoff home run in a world series that his team went on to lose?

Mickey Mantle in 1964. The Yankees ended up losing it to the Cards in the seventh game. Mantle's homer got the Yankees the sencond win of the series.
