  • Not so alienation

Can you name the top two winningest major league managers who were not born on US soil? (Being born in a territory that later became a state doesn't count as foreign...)
sigpicIt's not whether you fall -- everyone does -- but how you come out of the fall that counts.

    Blyleven might be one
Mythical SF Chronicle scouting report: "That Jeff runs like a deer. Unfortunately, he also hits AND throws like one." I am Venus DeMilo - NO ARM! I can play like a big leaguer, I can field like Luzinski, run like Lombardi. The secret to managing is keeping the ones who hate you away from the undecided ones. I am a triumph of quantity over quality. I'm almost useful, every village needs an idiot.

Were they really managers? I think you're talking about pitchers. Would Felipe Alou be one?

Good catch, MSM. I fell for it myself. Dang, and after all that research.
          Johnson and now Goligoski gone.
          I hope that's all.

Yup, it's Harry Wright (born in England) = No. 1, and Felipe Alou is No. 2. Good work.

That's just the second trivia question I've gotten right!
