  • World Series Question

I don't know the answer but wanted to ask you all.

Are there any players out there who've had just 1 AB in the World Series, and that they homered in that AB?

There have been six: George Shuba (1953), Jim Mason (1976), Kirk Gibson (1988), Jim Leyritz (1999), Geoff Blum (2005), and Bobby Kielty (2007). I talked about this very subject once on my blog.

It wasn't clear, but I assumed from the OP that it meant only one CAREER ab in the WS.

That's possible. If that is what he meant, then only Kielty should be added to your list.

Thanks Ian. I totally forgot about Gibson. Ironic how one of the most (if not the most) memorable shots was by a guy that had one WS AB. That's amazing.
