  • Name this player

After playing in his first Major League season, he didn't play in his second ML season until four years later. Then, he played in his third ML season...four years after his second season.

"Heck, all I got was a $100 check. I should have kept it and framed it, but I had to eat".

Not a bad guess, but no. This player hit a lot of home runs, in the minors and abroad.
