  • Another Yankee (and MLB) record that goes unnoticed.

    Most people that remember the name of Tom Zachary might say, "Oh, yeah, that's the guy that gave up Ruth's #60 in 1927." (Yes, he certainly is.) But two years AFTER that, guess who Tom Zachary pitched for? - Yep, the Yankees. That year, Tom set an MLB record (unofficial) that has been approached but not exceeded through 2011. What possible pitching record could that be? (It is not a record of shame, quite the contrary, it is a pitching superlative.) It's easy to look up the answer in Baseball Reference dot com.

      Yep, that's it. I would not consider it "unnoticed". I have seen it in many record and trivia books.
