A trivia question about pitching decisions:

Which pitcher received a No Decision in the highest percentage of his starts? Or another way of asking the same question, which pitcher factored into the decision in the lowest percentage of his starts...)

We're looking for the career record holder and the single-season record holders (two players are tied for the single-season record). Minimum 100 starts for the career record and a minimum of 20 starts for the single season record.

    No cheating please.
    My top 10 players:

    1. Babe Ruth
    2. Barry Bonds
    3. Ty Cobb
    4. Ted Williams
    5. Willie Mays
    6. Alex Rodriguez
    7. Hank Aaron
    8. Honus Wagner
    9. Lou Gehrig
    10. Mickey Mantle

Probably not the record, but I recently not noticed oswalt had a lot In 2009. He was 8-6 in 30 starts. Blyleven also had one year with a lot of no decisions - In 1979 he went 12-5 in 37 starts, which is a lower percentage then oswalt. I think his 20 no decisions are the most no decisions in a season - since you said two players tied, this isn't a percentage that would be easily tied so guessing there is a lower number

At the pace lee is going (2 decisions in 8 starts) he might be the answer at the end of the year

Don Gullett? I wouldnt know what year if he was one of the answers.

Here are a couple of hints. One of the guys tied for the single season record was a former Cy Young winner and the other pitched for over 20 years and more than 10 teams. The guy who holds the career record was a 1st round pick of the Yankees during the 1990's but was traded away before he ever pitched a Major League game for them.

Maybe Tim Lincecum for the single season or Felix Hernandez.

Mark Prior was a Yankee first rounder if I recall.

Eric Milton is correct. He compiled a record of 89-85, for a total of 174 decisions in 270 starts. So he had a decision in only 64.4% of his starts.
