For the record, Piazza had 10, Manny had 8, the two Rodriguez's had 6, and Hampton, Sandberg, Larkin, Bonds (twice), Sosa and Winfield had 5, with McCann and Braun having a chance to join the list with 5 this year

It's funny, my first instinct was that it was related to consecutive Silver Slugger awards, I don't know why. Then I looked up the list of winners and found the commonality.

Bonds got absolutely robbed in 1995. He went 30/30 with a 170 OPS+. LOL at Sosa and Bichette beating him out. Bonds deverved to win 14 Silver Sluggers in 15 years.

Mike Schmidt would have won 6 in a row had the award started being given in 1979 instead of 1980.
