  • Which year's rookie pitchers went on to post the most career wins?

I am not sure if someone has the means to research this, but is there a way to rack up all the career wins for pitchers who were rookies in a given season? I was looking at 1984 where we have:
    Clemens-354
    Gooden-194
    Saberhagen-167
    Gubicza-132
    Langston-179
    Darling-136
    Fernandez-114
    Danny Jackson-112
    Jimmy Key-186
who all won at least 100 career games. Can anyone find an official rookie crop with 9 future 100 game winners?

    In addition
    Rasmussen-91

and Cocanower, Nipper, Mason and a few other rookies racked up some wins.

Not the exact same set as 1984 "rookies," but the 1984 Top 21 "debuts" are like this :

    Code:

    Rk Player W
    1 Roger Clemens 354
    2 Dwight Gooden 194
    3 Jimmy Key 186
    4 Mark Langston 179
    5 Bret Saberhagen 167
    6 Mark Gubicza 132
    7 Tom Browning 123
    8 Jose Rijo 116
    9 Zane Smith 100
    10 John Franco 90
    11 Jim Deshaies 84
    12 Mike Bielecki 70
    13 Joe Hesketh 60
    14 Steve Farr 48
    15 Ron Robinson 48
    16 Jeff Robinson 46
    17 Jay Tibbs 39
    18 Lee Guetterman 38
    19 Ken Howell 38
    20 Calvin Schiraldi 32
    21 Ricky Horton 32
The total wins for all 1984 debuts is something like 2400+.

If someone has the inclination try 1962-69, when Perry, Niekro(s), Carlton, Sutton, Seaver, Blyleven, John, Koosman woudl have broke in. Otherwise that looks hard to top.

1965 is impressive, especially considering expansion only has a minimal effect in the mid-60s.

          Code:

          Rk Player W
          1 Steve Carlton 329
          2 Fergie Jenkins 284
          3 Jim Palmer 268
          4 Catfish Hunter 224
          5 Ken Holtzman 174
          6 Jim Lonborg 157
          7 Rudy May 152
          8 Joe Coleman 142
          9 Nelson Briles 129
          10 Bill Hands 111
          11 Tug McGraw 96
          12 John Hiller 87

          14 Grant Jackson 86

              1911 and 1912 had 9 each. In 1912, 5 were 215+.
