  • A Royal trio

George Brett, Al Cowens and Hal McRae of the Kansas City Royals are the only trio of teammates to achieve this feat in the same season. It involves the year-end totals of these three players. What did they do?

    10+ triples and 20+ HRs?

Along with that, they also all had 30+ doubles in 1977.

You're both on the right track. But the players didn't have to reach 20 in any category to be in this trio.

Yes, you got it! Brett, Cowens and McRae are the only trio of teammates to each have 10 or more 2b, 3b, hr and sb in the same season.

I forgot to mention that they achieved this as members of the 1977 Royals.

For the record, they are the only trio with 10+ triples and 20+ HRs though.

That Willie Keeler dude used to hit a lot of triples.
