  • Who needs home runs, I'm a slugger anyway

Who is the only player, ever, to post a slugging percentage higher than .500 in a season while hitting exactly zero home runs? Minimum 450 plate appearances.

Extra credit: Who holds the post-1900 record for highest slugging percentage in a season with zero home runs?

Extra extra credit: Who is the only player since 1950 to slug higher than .400 in a season in which he hit zero dingers?

The last one was a one-year wonder if there ever was one. He played over a decade in the big leagues but had only one really good season. Though he didn't make the All-Star team, he should have--he hit over .340 with 180 hits. He never had more than 100 hits in any other of his seasons.
