        May 2, 1924?

My first guess was actually the Covaleskis, but my game logs don't go back far enough

The Covaleski's reportedly refused to pitch against each other.

I was gonna say Retrosheet shows May 2 as well, then realized BB-Ref gets its boxscores from them... good question - made me dig.

The Covaleskis died refuse to pitch against each other, but there is one game, prior to any Barnes matchup, in which one took the mound after the other had already been replaced by the opposing team.
