  • Most combined Starter wins / Reliever saves - season and career

What I mean is... Which pair (Starter & Reliever) combined for the most games Won & Saved in a season and career.

    I confess I don't know the answer.

I suspect Bob Welch and Dennis Eckersley who combined for 19 Wins/Saves in 1990 might be the season record.

I also suspect Andy Pettitte and Mariano Rivera hold the career record, but again, I'm not not sure.
Pettite had at least 185 incomplete game wins for the Yankees, and Mariano probably saved a good 80% of them.

80% would be quite high, because only about 50% of all games have a save. Although, that includes complete games too.

    Here's a career list (from 2007). http://www.baseball-reference.com/blog/archives/127
Pettitte and Rivera now have 68, if I counted correctly.

Well, yes I should have said 80% of SAVE SITUATIONS in Pettitte's non CGs. I'm sure he had plenty of wins that weren't up for a save.
        Also thanks for the link.
