Here's the counterpart to the other thread. This time the question is which player from that season was the last to get into a game for the franchise. Again, to use an example not on the list, let's say you were trying to answer this question for the 1942 St. Louis Cardinals. The correct answer would be Stan Musial, who played his last Cardinal game on September 29, 1963, later than anyone else who appeared in a game for the 1942 team.
Again, please specify which team you're guessing for. Also note that being the last to play for the franchise does not necessarily mean he had continuous service with the franchise. If a player left and then later returned, he still can count.
1980 Philadelphia Phillies: Mark Davis (7/1/1993)
1981 Los Angeles Dodgers: Mike Scioscia (10/2/1992)
1982 St. Louis Cardinals: Willie McGee (10/3/1999)
1983 Baltimore Orioles: Cal Ripken Jr. (10/6/2001)
1984 Detroit Tigers: Alan Trammell (9/29/1996)
1985 Kansas City Royals: Mark Gubicza (7/5/1996)
1986 New York Mets: Dwight Gooden (6/24/1994)
1987 Minnesota Twins: Kirby Puckett (9/28/1995)
1988 Los Angeles Dodgers: Jesse Orosco (9/26/2002)
1989 Oakland Athletics: Tony Phillips (8/15/1999)
Good luck!
