I really liked the Tudor guess. But when Ben guessed Reuschel I said- aha! I saw Reuschel pitch many times in 85- I attended about 20 Pirates games in 85, the most I've gone to in a season- and also a lot on TV. Reuschel was outstanding in 85. Excellent excellent pitching on a bad team. He really new what he was doing. Also, he blessedly worked quickly- lots of his games, as I recall were in the low 2 hour range.

Once it's known, it's so obvious: "Which pitcher since 1971 is most likely to have 90% quality starts and least likely to come to mind as a pitcher who would have 90% quality starts?" How many posts have there been about what a schlub Reuschel is and how ridiculous his high pitching WAR?

    Pretty slick.

If you didn't give the "alliterative" hint, I'd still be looking.

Here's another hint. The pitcher's name is alliterative.

Like I said, the last one happened between 1970 and 1995.
