  • Most "Triple-Failures"

Which player holds the record for the most triple-failures in his career? The triple-failure is something I just made up. It's when a player strikes out, get caught stealing, and grounds into a double-play -- all in the same game. It's quite a trifecta of ineptitude.

So who holds the record with the most Triple-Failures in his career with 7?

    (data goes back to 1916)
    My top 10 players:

    1. Babe Ruth
    2. Barry Bonds
    3. Ty Cobb
    4. Ted Williams
    5. Willie Mays
    6. Alex Rodriguez
    7. Hank Aaron
    8. Honus Wagner
    9. Lou Gehrig
    10. Mickey Mantle

No, he's not. He has over 300 career stolen bases.

Rickey Henderson grounded into a lot of double plays for a guy with his speed. Is it him?

I'll take a wild swing and go with Jeter?

If it doesn`t turn out to be Jeter then it might be A-Rod.

That was lots of digging. He was the only player that I got up to with at least 4, so I just threw him out there. Looks like Rod Carew did it a few times as well.

Three players are tied for 2nd place with 6 Triple-Failures. They are: Sammy Sosa, Von Hayes, and Jeff Bagwell. Four players did it 5 times, sixteen players did it 4 times, forty-eight players did it three times.
