  • Diamondbacks and Conor Jackson avoid arbitration

PHOENIX, Ariz. (AP) — The Arizona Diamondbacks announced Tuesday the signing of infielder/outfielder Conor Jackson to a one-year contract. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.

The 26-year-old Jackson played in 144 games last season for Arizona, batting .300 (162-for-540) with 12 home runs and 75 RBI.

Jackson earned National League Player of the Week honors twice last season, winning the award from April 14-20 and again from July 21-27.

    Jackson was Arizona's first-round pick in 2003.

He has hit .287 (438-for-1,525) with 44 home runs and 222 RBI in 454 career games over parts of four Major League seasons.
