  • Atlanta Ballpark Tips

Hi all. I'm going to be doing a mini baseball trip and Atlanta is on my itinerary. I was wondering you guys could give me an tips about seating, in park food/deals, parking, etc? Some ballpark websites have this info but its typically written by a guy that visited the park once. I'd rather get the "inside scoop" from the real fans.

I here that I'm allowed to bring a cooler. Is this still allowed in 2008? Any other tips, etc would be much appreciated.

    Thanks for reading!

You really cant get a bad seat at Turner's Field, but the outfield seats are always a good time by the big drum, as long as you don't mind going deaf and not seeing the scoreboard. If you take the right field outfield seats, it's a bit quieter and you can see the scoreboard.

If you grab seats at the upper level, get them behind home plate. If you go on a Friday, which is fireworks nights, the upper deck behind home plate is the best seat in the house. You wont have to move, you will have a fantastic view of the city skyline, you will have a dead on view of the scoreboard, and a great bird eye view of the field.

But on Friday nights, if your seats are anywhere between the left field foul pole line to the Scoreboard, you have to move to another part of the stadium as ushers have to clear that area out for safety concerns of the fireworks.

All other seats are great as well but mostly high priced.

They do have all you can eats seats on the right field side of the upper deck for hotdogs and cokes, but you can get beer and burgers all you can eat in the club seats.

As for the coolers, as long as they are not hard plastic on the outside or inside (in other words, you can fold it later) it's okay. NO CANS!! Leave the plastic tub inside in the car.

If you want to sit in a nice seat at as baseball game, then you should here. The tickets are relatively 'low' priced. The best seats are 70 dollars apiece. 70 dollars other places will get you an outfield seat. If you sit in the outfield try to find a deal online. More than likely you can get 2 for 1 in the outfield.

Another option you have is getting to the stadium around when gates open, 2.5 hours before first pitch, and get a 1 dollar ticket. They are horrible seats, but if you go during the week, chances are you can move to a good seat during batting practice and no one will make you move unless it's their seat of course. Or if you get a dollar seat, go hang out in the chop house. It's a good outfield view and they have good food as well.

But like already said, theres not really a bad seat in the house. Terrace level seats are also a good buy for the price. All you can eat seats are a little pricey but may be worth it depending on how much you eat. If you want one check which foods are available for each level. They vary by seating location and of course price.

Parking is 12 dollars close to the stadium. It's easy to get to the stadium off the interstate. There are a few places around to park not run by the stadium, but they will usually charge the same as what the team does. If you can, there is a Holiday Inn right down the street, maybe a 5 minute walk, and I think parking there is 10 dollars.

Also, as a bonus. Definitely check out the Braves hall of fame and museum. It's very interesting even for non fans. Lots of things to look at. And if you care chances are you might see Phil Niekro there. I have seen him and gotten a picture and autograph. I think admission is a few dollars, but if you see someone with a season ticket stub, ask them for it and they will let you in for free.

Thanks for all of the help guys. I was may hit up the new nationals park. Its between that stadium and philly. I'm also going to cinncy & the trop, along with some of the minor league parks in the florida region. I prefer taking vacation in April as opposed to March due to the fact that I can see real games and also have plenty of minor league action to fill in time gaps.
